Here at Cycology, we're expanding our clothing range with some super stylish and high performance mountain bike jerseys and technical tees. Our UK business lead Robert Thorpe takes a look at things.
Looking ahead to 2020, mountain biking and urban bike skills are rising in popularity and the new Enduro mtb scene is growing across the globe. It seems sensible then that Cycology have introduced new technical tees and mtb jerseys, filling a void in the range and bringing some exciting designs to these dynamic biking styles.

We’ve been watching the mountain biking scene for some time, with the great live reviews on bikes from leading reviewer Guy Kesteven and the PMBA Race Series in the UK. Add to this the wealth of riders who simply want to show their awesome urban skills to the world, there’s a lot happening in the biking world. Visiting the recent UCI Road Cycling Championships in Harrogate, North Yorkshire gave us a chance to meet up with some people from this mountain biking and urban scene – yes I know, it was the World Road Championships, but it was in Yorkshire which is a haven for all things bike. Setting up our stand at the Cycle Expo that preceded the racing, we met with Yorkshire based UCI World Trials Bike Champion Jack Carthy, an amazing rider with numerous world titles to his name at only 22 years of age.

Jack is undoubtedly one of the most talented bike handlers on the planet, riding both mtb and trials bikes in a way that defies both gravity and logic. The height and balance that he achieves was on show for all to see at the Expo, with some special VIP appearances for him too and an interview on the UCI TV Channel.

Spending time with Jack and his team, our global ladies ambassador Larisa went on a trail ride with them, watched the behind the scenes work that goes into riding a bike to such a high skill level and also got to ride the bikes herself! Thankfully Jack also spent some time looking at our new mountain bike jersey range and accessories, finding them just what he needed, and why not. As the UCI Championships progressed, Jack and the Cycology team at Harrogate had agreed and signed a 3 year clothing sponsorship deal and he was already kitted out in out tops, tees, socks, gloves and hoodies; he’ll now be working closely with our design team to widen the Cycology mountain ranges in 2020.

Whilst in Yorkshire we also spoke to some key people from the Enduro mountain bike team and saw the development of some talented young riders who seem set to light up the wider British and European scene over the next few years. One such rider is a young rider from the Yorkshire Dales, Rose Tempest, who has seemingly won just about everything she’s entered in 2019. On the last PMBA Enduro Race of the 2019 season at Grizedale Forest in the Lake District National Park, Rose won the weekend racing with some fast and dynamic bike handling in tough weather conditions. Better still, Rose topped the podium wearing our new Singletrack Mind long sleeved mtb jersey and our One Tribe socks.
Enduro mountain bike racing is definitely on the rise across Europe, with the UK scene producing some of the most exciting prospects for the future. Many of the riders look for casual and relaxed loose fitting clothing that performs in all conditions and we really want to develop our range in this area, using the knowledge and experience of the riders now aligned and helping us here at Cycology.
We’ll be watching the mountain biking scene with a keen interest in 2020 and doing our best to support this talented young Enduro rider as she progresses and hoping that in the coming years she tops some seriously important podiums riding in Cycology colours.
